Lew Hinman

CEO

Lew brings expertise in complex business environments with commercial, government and industrial markets. He has hands-on P&L experience, providing leadership through volatile market conditions and organizational realignment. Lew brings deep knowledge in strategic business development and collaborative business structures, with experience in acquisitions, due diligence and integration planning and execution. His background includes extensive training in business process improvement and data-based decision making. He is recognized for his customer focus, communication skills and cross-functional team leadership.
Mr. Hinman holds an MBA in International Business and a BS in Environmental Studies. He is a graduate of the Darden School Executive Development program and is a US Patent holder.

Stephen Jenks, Ph.D.

Chairman

Stephen Jenks is a management and organization consultant with a special interest in entrepreneurship and issues relating to growing organizations. Much of his consulting work centers on strategic planning, top-level team building, and executive coaching. He has served on a number of boards of directors from 1980 to the present.
Stephen was a faculty member at the University of New Hampshire’s business school where he taught a course in entrepreneurial management and new business development for 20 years.
He received his M.S. and Ph.D. Degrees from Case Western Reserve University. He is the co-author of three books, the most recent of which is “The Arrogant Leader: Dealing with the Excesses of Power”.

Scott Eaton, Ph.D.

CTO

Dr. Eaton is the co-inventor of EH fuel technology and is one of SCG’s founding members. He is SCG’s Chief Technology Officer, and also is Assistant Research Professor of Engineering at the University of Southern Maine.
Scott’s technical expertise is in combustion engineering and emissions research. He has held positions at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s Fuels, Engines and Emissions Research Center (FEERC) and at the Maine Maritime Academy. In that time, he has authored 23 publications on the development of alternative fuels, advanced combustion engine strategies and emissions treatment technology. He is a member of SAE, ASME and AIChE.

Scott Bettigole

CFO

Scott brings 27 years in senior financial leadership roles in public and private equity owned companies in the Defense, CAD / CAM Equipment and Hand Tool Industries. He led Finance, HR, IT in several high growth, technology rich engineering / manufacturing companies.
He has extensive hands on experience in strategic planning, business M&A / integration / carve-out and sales.
Mr. Bettigole holds a B.S. in Accounting from Western New England University and an MBA in International Business from University of Connecticut.

Geoff Lamdin

Founding Director

Geoff is the principal of Left Field Solutions, LLC, a consulting company focused on venture development and “opportunity engineering”. LFS connects organizations to the people and resources needed to expand their opportunities and create solutions to business challenges. He finds connections and solves problems where others are not and makes things go. LFS “identifies and then connects the dots – often in ways not easily imagined”.
An avowed cleantech junkie, he has been mentoring and judging early stage companies with the National Cleantech Open and Maine Top Gun program for 10 years.

Rep. Andrew Learned

COO

Andrew Learned is a 13 year Navy Veteran having served as a Boarding Officer combating Somali Piracy and as an Assistant Chief Engineer on various warships. He founded Tampa Bay Learning in 2013 and employs 20+ teachers in his family business tutoring kids across three locations in Florida.
In 2020 he was elected to the Florida House of Representatives where he worked on infrastructure funding, climate regulations, and veterans’ issues.

Advisory Board Members

The management team is supported by a network of technology and application experts that provide guidance in the development of Bio-EHF’s, biodiesel production and facility management, small business development, startups, and strategy execution. A few exceptional advisors include:

Richard Kimball, PhD, Co-Founder & Advisor

Dr. Kimball led the R&D effort on diesel/glycerol fuel emulsions for use in Diesel engines. He currently is Professor of Ocean Engineering and Energy at the University of Maine (UMaine). Prior to UMaine, he was a Professor of Engineering at Maine Maritime Academy and Director of the Marine Engine Testing and Emissions Laboratory (METEL), where he was involved in fuel development and emissions research. He has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UMaine, and a MS and PhD in Ocean Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Bob Ring, Co-Founder & Advisor

Bob Ring brings over 20+ years of experience in marine and applied engineering.  As a Chief Engineer he has had major responsibilities on a wide range of platforms including US Navy support, oceanographic vessels, deep water drill ships, and tankers.  Companies with whom he has served as Chief Engineer include Maersk, Crowley and Pacific Gulf Marine.  Bob also served as Plant Manager for a biodiesel company. He has expertise in running complex operations and establishing successful on-and off-ship engineering and maintenance teams. He has a BS in Marine Engineering from Maine Maritime Academy. 

John Tisdale

Before retiring in 2014, John Tisdale was General Counsel of ArcLight Capital Partners, a private equity firm located in Boston and focused on the energy sector. Prior to his tenure at ArcLight, John worked in the investment and real estate areas as in-house counsel as well as in private practice. John grew up in Burlington, Vermont, and attended Middlebury College and Boston University School of Law.
